Today is a big day. Le Tour is on the 2nd to the last day and race organizers have chosen to finish on the most iconic and storied climb in France, Alpe d’Huez. I for one can’t wait to see this stage. Will Froome still hold the lead? Can Quintana finally put together a climb for the record books? Perhaps Nibali can regain the form from previous years? Regardless of what happens it is going to be rad.
Our shop ride for the day will climb the same total meters as Alpe d’Huez by climbing Mt Tam from Stinson Beach. This climb reminds me so much of the climbs in Europe that it makes perfect sense to do it today. The lower half is full of majestic switchbacks while the top section opens up to rolling steeps until we reach our destination.
Once back in the city we encourage you to come to Bespoke as we replay the days stage. Coffee, champagne, and beer will be provided and by all means grab your favorite post ride meal to enjoy.
As always please be prepared for the ride with proper riding clothes, extra water, food, and a spare tube. Lets go crush some mountains.
