Choosing to engage in the process of having a custom bike built is rewarding on so many different levels. Sitting here this Tuesday morning drinking a fresh cup of coffee I am reminded of just how lucky we are to get to take part in this process on a daily basis. We are selling yes, its our job but we also are connecting patrons to makers. On a personal note a large part of the fascination stems from getting a glimpse into the lives of the maker. I want to be a part of that. I want to see just what it takes and how it al comes to fruition. I yearn to exist within this world. The result is a product, a machine, built and tailored to reflect my physical geometry, desired handling, and the goals I have for the upcoming season and future. The intention of this bicycle is for me and for me alone. This is special. This is why custom matters. I like knowing where the products I ride come from and knowing that Dan finished welding my frame on September 12, 2014 at 9:37 Am. I can even take it as far as to imagine what he had for breakfast and just how fresh his cup of coffee was. We foster connections to people as well as products by telling stories and engaging new faces daily. With so many choices of where to spend our money let this option be that of lasting significance. Invest in companies with real people. Feel good about your purchase by supporting small makers of fine goods.
